Knowing Me Knowing You

What is Knowing Me, Knowing You?

Knowing Me, Knowing You (KMKY) is an online course designed specifically for women or birthing parents in Hampshire to support your perinatal mental health. The course is offered until your baby’s first birthday.

NHS healthcare professionals will help you explore your thoughts and feelings around anxiety, low mood, and overall well-being. The aim is to provide support in a safe, non-judgemental space to increase parenting confidence.

What’s involved?

Knowing Me Knowing You runs for six weeks during Hampshire school terms. Delivered by Southern Health Health Visiting Service and NHS Talking Therapies, the course is evidence-based from data, feedback, and clinicians’ knowledge and skills. Each session includes group-led discussions, parent-child activities, peer support, and self-help tools. Afterwards, you will be given a recap handout.

Here’s what to expect on a weekly basis:

Week 1: Welcome session and getting to know each other

Week 2: Keeping the baby in mind

Week 3: What can make me feel this way?

Week 4: Around me: Relationships, Friendships and Community Support

Week 5: Taking steps for my emotional wellbeing

Week 6: Creating ripples and reflecting. Please note, if possible we try to meet as a group in person this week.

Here’s what some mums have said about the course:

“I found it really beneficial to hear other mums perspective and gain a better understanding of what I was going through/feeling.”

Mum, Basingstoke

“My confidence is getting so much better about getting out and about and reducing my anxiety! Thank you so much.”

Mum, New Forest

“Thank you for making me feel valued. On really lonely days it can be hard, and you always welcomed everyone to the group with big smiley faces, not only remembering our names but the babies too.”

Mum, Gosport

“This group made me feel less isolated in my own experiences and challenges of motherhood.”

Mum, Rushmoor
